Meet the Team

Doctors

Our doctors work in a partnership. Although you are registered with a named doctor, you may see any of the doctors in the practice.

Wherever possible, we will arrange an appointment with the Doctor of your choice. At times it may not be possible to do this, and you will be offered an appointment with one of the other partners.

Doctors in Training

Mayford House Surgery is a training practice. GP Registrars and Foundation Year 2 doctors work with the Practice for twelve and four months respectively. These doctors are hospital trained and have been qualified doctors for a number of years. During the time at the practice they learn to apply their skills within the community.

We hope you will be happy for these Doctors to play a part in your care but if you have any concerns about this please inform the Receptionist and we will respect your wishes.

Medical Student

Mayford House Surgery periodically takes on a Medical Student to supervise and they work alongside one of the GP Partners seeing patients. The patients they see are also seen by the GP Partner to ensure a full and safe consultation experience. This is to encourage more people to see the NHS and GP Surgeries as a career option.

Practice Nurses & Healthcare Assistants

All our nurses are experienced in all general nursing duties including wound care, injections and are available for general enquiries and advice. They are available by appointment. They are supported by our Health Care Assistants. The nurses can also deal with some minor injury and illnesses.

Jane Wright

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANP) work independently and with the other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions. They aim to provide expert professional advice to patients, families and carers. Our ANP appointments are available to those requiring a same day appointment, HOWEVER they do not see patients requiring sick notes, and pregnant patients.
